Preventive Dentistry Maintains Your Brilliant, Healthy Smile

Most people don’t realize just how much keeping their teeth and gums healthy is a part of an overall wellness plan. Problems with your oral health, such as gum disease, are actually linked to serious conditions such as heart attack, stroke, and diabetes.

The bottom line is that a healthy mouth is important if you want to keep your whole body healthy. Routine cleanings and examinations are part of that. Even the most diligent brushing and flossing cannot entirely remove the buildup of plaque and bacteria on your teeth and gums, but a professional cleaning with one of our skilled hygienists will give you a fresh start.

We can also provide dental sealants and fluoride treatment—regardless of age—to offer protection against future decay.

An important part of your annual exam is the oral pathology exam. Your dentist will check the soft tissue for any changes or abnormalities. Early detection of oral cancer is critical to preserving wellness.

You Can’t Have a Healthy Mouth without Healthy Gums

Gum disease is the main cause of tooth loss in adults—and it is preventable. But the problem with gum disease is that many people don’t even realize they have it, so it goes untreated. Gum disease often presents with no symptoms, so often the only way you will know if you have it is by going to the dentist on a regular basis.

Everyone has plaque, so everyone is at risk for gum disease. When plaque hardens, it turns into tartar, or calculus, which can only be removed with special dental instruments. If it is left in place, the bacteria in plaque can infect the gums. Even the most careful home care cannot remove tartar.

If your gums bleed when you brush or floss, you may already have the early stage of gum disease: gingivitis. If you don’t get treatment, gingivitis will get worse.

Late-stage gum disease is called periodontitis. At this point, you might have pockets that have formed between your gums and your teeth. Your jawbone might be compromised, and you could be at risk for tooth loss.

Frequently Asked Questions

If you are feeling anxious about your visit, be sure to talk to us ahead of time. We will make sure you fully understand what will be happening during any treatments or procedures. Often being well-armed with knowledge can alleviate fears. We are happy to take all the time you need to answer questions to help waylay your fears.

We will let you in on another secret: The anticipation of treatment is often much worse than the treatment itself!

If you need additional assistance feeling calm, we also have nitrous oxide available. Also called "laughing gas," this is inhaled similarly to breathing in oxygen through a mask. From the moment you breathe it in, you will start to feel relaxed and possibly even euphoric. It leaves your system as quickly as it entered, and there are no lingering after-effects. You will even be able to drive after treatment and return to your busy life.

Don’t let anxiety get the better of you and prevent you from getting the dental treatment you need. We care about your oral health, and we will do what we can to ensure your comfort while you are here.

If you do not have dental insurance, we are happy to tell you that we have several options available. To help save you money, we offer a discount for payments that are made on the same day you receive service. You can pay for your treatment with cash or check, and we also accept all major credit cards.

We also work with CareCredit, a third-party company that offers zero- and low-interest financing for medical procedures, including dental treatment. We also offer an in-house savings plan. With our in-house plan, patients and their family members are eligible for discounts on all of our treatments and procedures.

If you have questions or concerns about the cost of treatment, please talk to us. We will work with you to figure out the best plan for you.

You can also rest assured that we will take a conservative approach to treatment, and we will do our best to ensure you fully understand why we make a certain recommendation. We also will not proceed with any treatment until you feel comfortable about it and have fully agreed to it.

We offer a wide variety of office hours to accommodate our patients’ busy schedules. We are open enough hours so that many of our patients don’t have to take any time away from work.

Our office is open Monday through Thursday, with early morning hours for those who would like to come in before work. We are also open into the evening two days a week for those who find it more convenient to come after work. Our office staff consists of Dr. Luecht and four hygienists, so we can see patients with maximum efficiency.

We also offer same-day dental crowns. We use the E4D Dentist System, which enables us to create a digital impression of the tooth structure. Not only will your experience with this cutting-edge technology be more pleasant—no more goopy impressions—but your dental crown will be made while you wait. This means that in just one appointment we can get your tooth prepared for the crown, fabricate your crown, and permanently place your crown. You will receive a high-quality dental crown—and you won’t need to come in for two separate appointments.

Give us a call; we will find a time that works with your schedule.

We get it; modern lives are hectic and busy. Your time is valuable, and we appreciate that.

Our office is staffed with Dr. Luecht and four hygienists so we can see our patients promptly and avoid delays.

Waiting to see the dentist is frustrating—especially if you are feeling anxious about your appointment. Our office is efficient, and we are committed to seeing patients on time. You can also read some of the reviews from our happy patients to see how we are doing in this respect!

When you call in to make your appointment, be sure to ask us just how long you can expect your appointment time to last. The length of your appointment will vary, depending on the treatment you are receiving and whether you are a new patient or have been coming to our office for many years. Your very first appointment with our practice might run a bit longer as we want to get a thorough medical history from you at that time.

Be sure to write down any questions you might have to make sure you don’t forget anything while you are here.

If you feel anxious about coming to the dentist, be sure to let us know that, too!

Yelling at our patients is not our style! Excellent dental care is all about teamwork—and you are part of our team. You will be treated with compassion and understanding—regardless of when you last had a dental appointment. We will be very happy to see you!

If anxiety about the dentist is what has kept you away, be sure to let us know that when you are making your appointment. There are a lot of things we can do to make your visit here as comfortable as possible, including the use of nitrous oxide. We appreciate having the opportunity to talk to you and help ease your mind prior to receiving treatment.

You’ll want to be prepared to provide a thorough medical history at your initial appointment. Make sure we are aware of any chronic conditions you might have. If you are on any medications, we need to know that as well.

Be sure to be honest with us about your habits—even if they are not healthy ones. Even if you are a smoker or you drink a lot of soda, you will not get a lecture. Knowing these details helps us more effectively create a treatment plan that is right for you. The most important thing is that you are taking a step to getting your oral health back on track!
